ABOUT

It feels that week by week our world continues to change, covid-19 still consumes our conversations and thoughts. Although the current restrictions are undeniably necessary to flatten the spread of the virus itself, the impact of this new and enforced way of living on health and wellbeing is significant – with levels of worry, stress, and anxiety are already showing upwards trends. Whilst nothing is certain, it is fair to anticipate that this 'period of lockdown', as we've come to know it, will be repeated in future months to tackle the spread of the disease.

That's why we created our new online 'festival' - Healthy Oceans, Healthy Minds.

Through the campaign we want to re-connect people to our seas, waterways and outdoor spaces, to show the impact that a healthy marine environment can have on our health and wellbeing.

We have gathered experts, creators and storytellers from across Northern Ireland and beyond to motivate and empower people to take positive actions to protect the world around us.

We need now, more than ever, to create a society that values the outdoors, and understands that if we look after it, it will give back to us in more ways than we could imagine.

This site is created to host our wonderful blog posts from people immersed in nature, health, resilience and community - all connected by their love of the outdoors and the impact it has on them, their work and ultimately their mental health.
